As long as good men just sit comfortably men will continue to rape nature.

"And the Angel of Death unfurled her wings
at the screams of Nature being raped by Man..."
(author and/or source unknown)

I don't know why I keep thinking about this verse of a poem I read when I was 17 or 18 years old. It came to me as some pages from a newspaper were flying through the streets as the winds gusting from the Hudson River was passing through. I happen to grab one of the pages in it was this quote. I have searched all over of the entire poem, but have never been able to find it. Not even Google was able to find the origin of this verse. I could not help but think of the meaning of just these few words alone. The thought of what the entire poem would bring meaning too.

I can not help but think of what could be happening that would bring the Angel of Death to the rescue Nature from man's doings. Then I see the things that are happening around me and around the world. All the death and destruction, the hatred, the anger, the sadness, the loneliness all the hands of Man. Sometimes I find my self wishing for my own Angel of Death to come and unfurl her wings at my sadness and loneliness caused by my witnessing life around me. I wonder why we just stand around and do nothing about the injustice going around us. Why do we not stand up against the maihem being perpetrated on humanity? Why are we allowing people to take the our thoughts and replacing them with theirs? Why do people not care about what they are witnessing every days, every moment of their waking days?

Their is another quote that this reminds me of is from Edmund Burke "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." As long as good men just sit comfortably men will continue to rape nature.

Thanks for reading.

Peace be on to you, now and forever
